Guardian del Velo | Brandon Graciano

Created for a collective exhibition project featuring 21 artists, Guardián del Velo was painted within a shared red and green color structure inspired by the Mexican flag. Set in a deep green palette, the owl is based on a species native to Texas and Mexico, emerging with shadowed textures, moonlight, and a layered forest. The piece reflects the owl’s associations with mystery, wisdom, intuition, and occult symbolism within Latin American culture and lore. Perched beneath a moonlit sky - the owl becomes a guardian of what is sacred, hidden, and unseen. (This piece is currently on display at the Mexican Cultural Institute in San Antonio, TX, and will be unavailable for purchase until September 2026.)
